Absolutely the Best Way to Experience London!

"I spent a week in London with my son, daughter in law and grandchildren (ages 10 & 12). London did not disappoint but what took the experience over the top was the two days we spent with Gavin. He was immediately able to assess each of our interests and kept us all captivated with his warmth, humour, incredible scope of knowledge and storytelling ability. Because he guided us around on the perfect timetable we found ourselves in the best spots for viewing all the events. He had treats and learning aids for the children. It was like being with a dear friend who could bring history alive."

Greenwich

Greenwich was for centuries the ceremonial entrance to the capital from the river. It was the site of one the most important Tudor palaces, and later of the Royal Naval Hospital where a collection of the greatest names in English architecture worked, including Wren and Hawksmoor. The presence of the palace, and then the sailors ensured a rich and various history for the town.

This part of London has the character of a village, with its compact riverside location. But this was the gateway to London, and possesses some the finest buildings in England, which you will discover on this tour.

This is a great tour for people looking to get out of the centre of London to explore a very different part of the city.

Duration: 6 hours

Availability: Daily

You’ll see these highlights and much more along the way:

  • Take a boat from Central London to Greenwich.

  • See the Cutty Sark Tea Clipper as we walk around Greenwich and find out why is was given its name.

  • Have a browse around the covered market established in 1737.

  • See Greenwich Park, once the hunting grounds of the royals and get some wonderful views looking across the river Thames to Central London.

  • Pass the Queen's House, commissioned by Queen Anne of Denmark in 1616, considered to be the jewel in the crown of Greenwich's UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Have some "pub grub" in one of the old pubs of Greenwich.

  • Visit the Church of St Peter and St Pauls.

  • Tour the spectacular Painted Hall in the Old Royal Naval College.

This is great family tour where you get to see and experience a lot of different things in one day, including a  cruise along the river Thames!
